捨て試合スタメンは必要策だったんだ
２番 ライト ペゲーロ
３番 岡島or聖沢
４版 サード ウィーラー
5番 ファースト 銀次
６番 センター 島内
7番 セカンド 藤田
８番 キャッチャー 嶋
９番 ピッチャー
というのが右ピッチャー相手のレギュラー布陣であることは知られていると思う。そして相手が左の場合は聖沢←→松井とか藤田→←銀次、銀次の場所に今江と言う程度のへんこうだったはずだ。
それがここにきて則本とかのエース級でないランクが落ちる先発投手の場合は「捨て試合ですか？」といいたくなるようなスターティングメンバーが続く。
そして、ここ数試合は銀次をひっこめるという荒業も見た。
そして、藤平先発試合で相手は左投手だけど驚くスタメン。
１番 セカンド 西田
２番 ライト ペゲーロ
３番 ファースト 今江
４番 サード ウィーラー
５番 センター 島内
６番 レフト 松井
７番 ショート 三好
８番 キャッチャー嶋
９番 ピッチャー 藤平
ペゲーロとウィーラー、島内、嶋以外は控えメンバーである。カードを２勝１敗ペースでいくのだという方向性はわかるけど勝負事だから昨日のように則本で勝てるとは限らない。現にDNAにも中日にもヤクルトにも負け越している。じゃあ、投手が良くないレベルの日でも試合捨てたりしている場合じゃ無いんじゃね？とも思うよなあ。しかも初先発の藤平のバックがこれじゃあ初めから勝てるわけがない、ということは首脳陣もじゅうじゅうわかっていたと思えるのだ。
ではなぜ、このような数試合に一度の捨て試合オーダーを組むのか考えてみた。
それは「仕方がないから」ということではないのだろうか。
6連戦が続く日程になってから明らかに打線全員の調子が下降線ですな。普通なのはウィーラーくらい。岡島も島内も藤田も。すでに「下位打線が点を獲る」はずっとできていないし「下位から上位に繋げる」もほぼできない。ピッチャーが打線に入る事もあるからだけど。
つまり楽天打線のほぼ全員が、連戦が続くと疲れで良いパフォーマンスを出せなくなる連中だ、というところでしょう。
ちなみに内野陣は三好、西田を除けば全員３０歳以上です（厳密には銀次は２９）、外野は控えも含めて全員２７歳以上。他チームに多い２３とか２４の選手が皆無なのです。
従って体力のある外国人を除けば全員を３試合に一回はフルで休養させなければ、まったく打てない選手になってしまうことを首脳陣がわかっているのではないかと。また、全試合出せば鉄人は別として怪我をする確率は増えるでしょう。楽天は今年開幕一軍選手の怪我はほぼありません。逆に怪我があったら選手層が薄い分シーズンの成績に大きく響きます。
そして問題なのは各ポジションに代役がいないこと。センターであれば二軍でセンターやってるのは田中です。かれが打つほうで現在の島内と同等の成績はまず無理ですから代役にはなれません。あの福田も二軍で打率は２割そこそこで出場機会も少なく下手すれば来期は育成かという状況。とても一軍に上がるレベルではありません。したがってどんなに調子が悪くても島内になってもらうしかないという状況ではないでしょうか。
レフトも同様で松井や聖沢を併用しても「この人だ！」という突出した選手はいません。ならば下から入れ替えしたちところですが、フェルナンドはホームランも２本くらい打率も２割と守備が苦手な外野手としては致命的な打撃成績。これでは今居る人でやるしかないでしょう。
ショート茂木やセカンドフジタの代わりは三好が務められます。なぜかスタメンが少なかったですが昇格以来ずっと代打も含めて２９打数１２安打４割超え。同じくらいの打数の松井稼頭央が.276ですから本来ならだれよりも優先で起用しなければいけない選手ですけどね。
さて、二遊間から三塁にはもう一人サブがいないと三好を頻繁に起用できませんから呼んできたのが西田だったのでしょう。西田と三好なら同時に二遊間を守らせて藤田と茂木を両方とも休養させられます。結局、今江も銀二の休養の穴埋め、という仕事があって一軍に残されているのではないかと思うわけです。
ソフトバンクは怪我人や疲労からの不調で選手が欠けることもありますが、現状は悪い影響は見られずに勝ち続けています。それはファームから上がってきた代役のレベルが非常に高いからです。しかし楽天は前述したとおり代役のレベルが低すぎるのであります。したがってソフトバンクのように代役が多い試合でも勝ちに行くことができる状態と違って、できることは投手陣をなるべく使わないで負ける、という方法くらいなのでは。
そもそも考えてみれば、アマダーがいない現在、ペゲーロが打てなければ、ウィーラーが一人でガンバっていた去年前半のジリ貧の時とメンバーはまったく変わっていないのだと知って愕然としましたね。だって野手の新戦力って去年入った茂木だけ。後半から入ったアマダー、ペゲーロ、ペレスのみ。あとはここ最近のレギュラーがレギュラーだったんだもん。首位独走するほど急に成長する年齢でもないんだから今年は、運よく、選手の体調も良い、と良いことづくめだっただけなんだろう。
首脳陣もそれは十分に承知して、６連戦が続くころには全員が調子を落としてくるだろう。でもファームから選手を上げて入れ替えてもかえってチームは弱くなって落ちる。ならば勝率は下がらないように格下の先発が投げるときには「捨て試合」ならぬ「勝てればもうけもん」としてサブメンバーだけで戦おう、とか方向を決めたんじゃないですかね。そして交流戦は特にＤＨなしの試合に関しては全部勝ちにいくのではなく、最終的に５割くらいで終えて中休みに入るまでなんとか我慢してこなしていこう！なんてことだったりしないかな。
つまり、レギュラー陣の疲れからくる不調や怪我をなくすために敢えて「捨て試合」を数試合に一度は想定しているのではないか？と思ったりもすんのです。そうじゃないと説明がつかないもん。
今日の試合も休養なら嶋も休ませればいいのにと思ったけど。藤平はまずまず。小野や古川の時のように速球が全部浮いて四球を出しまくってビビった遅いストレート滅多打ちよりはかなり良い。試合作れたし。ただ本来は速いストレートとスライダー他変化球で抑える投手。ストレートが130ｋ台とかはちょっとね、指にかかっていたボールは１４４くらいで威力あったけど。次の登板はまた６連戦が続くときでしょうが、先発１勝まであまり時間はかからない感じがしますね。
さて試合は楽天捨て試合打線の打てない打てない大行進。安打１だってよ。しかも相手はずっと勝ってない岩貞。１ヒットも打てなかった連中が明日からもプロとしてやっていくんだから楽しい職場ですな。
しかしレギュラー休養の場、とはいえ、１点差だとどうしても勝ちたくて、悔しくて、銀次やら茂木やらを代打で出して守りにまで就かせてしまうんですなあ。それとも１打撃＆１守備くらいならヨイということなんでしょうかね。
ただ、「捨て試合」でも勝てそうなときは勝つというのなら。そして銀次や茂木を出すのなら。どうして久保を８回も続投させたんでしょうか。１点差なら普通は福山だよね？森原がいなくなって７回は福山ということで彼は勝ち継投だから出せないのかあ。でも菊池も戸村もいたもんね。久保が敗戦処理からやや上に立場がアップしたとしても２イニングいかせるのは変だよね。７回無失点で終えた時点で「よくやった」で終わりなのが普通。８回を抑えてたら勝機はあったのになあ。
これからも連戦などスケジュールがきつい期間も出てくるので首脳陣が近い将来失速しないためにも我慢して「捨て試合」を作る、というならそれはそれで意味あることだから我慢するけど、最低限、「捨て試合」の選手が頑張って勝てそうになったら本気の選手を出してあげてほしいよなあ。
残り試合２．美馬と岸で勝てる保証はないし二戦ともレギュラーメンバーで行くのだろうけどせめて交流戦５割で終えてほしいところ。
