アマダー起用には恐れ入った

このブログを読んでくださっている方ならアタシがアマダーにけっこう期待していて全く打てない時期でも擁護するような記事を書いた事は覚えているかと思う。そして、その擁護する気持ちがジョジョになくなって西田か中川の方が良い、と移り変わっていったことを。

今朝のニュースで梨田監督の談話「ボールの見極めはできてきた、雰囲気が出てきた」というコメントを聞いて、そんなアバウトな根拠かよ！とか思った。もっと技術的なものとかフォーームとかを改善したのではなく「雰囲気」ってなんだよ！とも思っていたのだが。

しかし考えてみればアタシも所属するネット界の人々や多くの野球ファンの間ではどうかんがても「アマダー国に送り返せ」みたいな意見は相当聞かれるのではないかと思う。
首脳陣はそういう声を聴いているかどうかは不明だけど、それ以上に周囲の関係者からアマダーの処遇に関して耳が痛くなるほど進言をもらっていただろう。
さすがに「助っ人失格」とまではいかなくとも「一度二軍で調整させてから」というような事は２８６０回くらいは言われたかもしれない。

確かに監督やコーチの仕事は送りバントやスチール、エンドラン、昨日失敗した前進守備などがめだつけれど、最も重要な枠割は選手起用だろう。起用した選手が活躍せず連敗を続けているような場合は監督としては動きたくなるのでは。ファンやマスコミから叩かれている不振選手を代えざるを得なくなる場合もかっこう多いのではないか。もし「代えない」ということであれば連敗しても何の対策もせず動かない無能監督というイメージが先行するからだ。

だから梨田監督が、昨日久々のスタメンDHで出場したアマダーを庇うような発言をしたと知ったときに、今日もスタメンで出すきなんだろうと知って、こう思ったのだ。
周囲からどれだけ言われても自分の信念はまげずに実行する度胸はたいしたもんだなあ、と。
無論、今日もアマダーがブレーキになって連敗をしたらば、さすがにアマダーはファーム行きだったろうとは思うけど。

アマダーは昨日の２打席は明らかにそれまでとは違っていた。際どいコースでさえよく見てボール判定を取って四球が二つだった。その後は内気満々で凡退だったからアタシらから見れば同じじゃん！ということなのだが、監督やコーチ陣から見れば「打てそうだ」という判断だったのだろう。

起用した方も偉いが、それに応えた方も偉い。
１回表、茂木はレフトフェンスぎりぎりまで飛ばした惜しい当たりだがアウト。ペゲーロがレフトへヒット。ウィーラーに一発で決めてもらいたかったけど死球。んじゃ銀次に先制点タイムリーを期待したら四球。え、ショッパナから満塁でアマダーかよ！というのが正直な感想。因果応報というか運命と言うか、不調の打者にはこういうところで回ってくるもんだ。
初球と二球目を見逃しでボール2．感心したのはここから。
普通、これだけ打てなくて、しかも打てないという肩身の狭さからチームにも溶け込んでいなく孤独にさえ見えたアマダー。なんせ彼の活躍で勝った試合なんかひとつだってなかったのである。

２アウト満塁なら犠牲フライはダメ。ヒットか押し出し四球か、可能性のないエラーしかないのだ。そんな時だったら２－０からは一球見逃して、押し出し四球、という事も考えただろう。それでも２－０から易しくない内角低めのストレートをすくいあげるように強振。軽打でランナーを返すというより、自分は今、ここで満塁ホームランを打たなければ価値のない選手だと思っていたかのような覚悟が見えたホームラン狙いスイングだった。
ボールは「打った瞬間」というのではなく高く上がった凡フライのような雰囲気。レフトがフェンスぎりぎりで待っており。やがて諦めたかのように球の行方さえ見ないそぶりをしたのを見て初めてスタンドインを確信した次第。この土壇場での強気の打撃は今後も「ここで一発」と言う時に打てる能力を持っている証拠だと思う。

無論、今日ですべて許されたわけでもなく、アマダーの調子が完全に戻ったわけでもないだろう。しかし他チームも、そろそろアマダーは警戒ね！という意識が出てくるだろうから打線にいれておけば効果は出るだろう。

また、アマダーの２安打を除けば、茂木、ペゲーロのシングル１本ずつ。計４本だけのヒット。打線がよかったとはとても言えない。岡島も島内も銀二もノーヒットだったのは気がかりな部分。これもあって敢えてアマダーを入れたのかもしれないなと。
そういえば、さっぱり打てる気配のなかった藤田が最終回守備を三好と交代。守備固めなら逆なので何かあったんすかね。心配です。

則本の投球は圧巻でした。ノーヒットとはいかず、良い当たりを銀次に救ってもらった場面もありましたが、なんといっても球が速かった。大谷が故障中の今、先発でＭＡＸ156ｋ、常時152～155ｋ出せる投手は日本にはいないでしょう。首脳陣から厳しい支持が出てたのでしょうが、球数少なく早い勝負に徹して１００球で完封という近年にない素晴らしい投球を見せました。これもバッテリーも一緒にみっちりと指導した成果ではないのかしら。

明日は釜田。昨日と今日の試合で福山、森原、ハーマン、松井は楽々起用できるため５回までで大丈夫。戸村か森を使うなら３～４回まででもOKなのだ。つまり釜田得意の３イニングあたりまで無失点なら、そこから早くも継投に入る事も可能なんですねえ。
ただ相手の佐々木は前回６失点も初回３失点でそのご７回までは無失点。７回にまたつかまった、というパターンだから楽々点が取れるというわけではなさそうです。
ともかく明日は全員参加で勝ち越しを決めてほしいもんだ。
